Charly Warden

2ND-YEAR TCA MEMBER

What do you do?

I make short films.

How have you felt like you’ve changed since joining TCA?

I’ve embraced my more flamboyant personality traits as strengths.

What is the one movie you’ve seen the most?

Cafe Lumiere by Hou Hsiao-Hsien

What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

I’ve eaten several flowers for my videos.

If you had entrance music what would it be?

"The Party's Crashing Us" by Of Montreal

Ria Sylva

2ND-YEAR TCA MEMBER

What do you do?

I write poems n’ paint dogs.

How have you felt like you’ve changed since joining TCA?

Voice. I’ve become comfortable with airing out my ideas and actually being involved in discussions. i was that shy kid that barely said two words. Now I’m still that shy kid but I understand the power of my voice.

If you could be anything in the universe, what would it be?

The middle point of space between the moon and the sun.

What is your least favorite movie?

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip

If you were a super villain, what would your master plan be?

Free all ice cream from ice cream trucks and ice cream parlors to hold in my own ice cream village. In the ice cream village, I would exchange scoops of ice cream for puppies and/or baby goats.

Richard Medina

2ND-YEAR TCA MEMBER

What do you do?

I’m a painter.

How have you felt like you’ve changed since joining TCA?

TCA has helped me communicate my ideas better in group conversations.

If you could be anything in the universe, what would it be?

Myself!

What is the one movie you’ve seen the most?

I don’t really watch movies multiple times anymore, but when I was 6 or 7 years old I used to be really into the original Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla. I’ve seen that movie so many times.

If you had entrance music what would it be?

Kanye West – Famous, but just the parts with Swizz Beatz's ad-libs. GOD DAMN.

Chloe Graham

2ND-YEAR TCA MEMBER

What do you do?

I am a painter, drawer, sculptor, zine maker, and writer.

How have you felt like you’ve changed since joining TCA?

TCA helped me realize I wanted to be an artist; it opened my mind to new possibilities in art making.

If you could be anything in the universe, what would it be?

Either Patti Smith or a cat; one gets 9 lives, the other is like the most fascinating person on earth. How can i choose?!

What is your least favorite movie?

I'm a very ironic person, so i enjoy watching bad movies. Probably Cheetah Girls 3.

If you were a super villain, what would your master plan be?

Create a cult themed around rescuing cats and worshipping them. (Wait; is that evil?)

Lauren Miller

2ND-YEAR TCA MEMBER

What do you do/what is your medium?

I don’t consider myself an artist particularly, but photography, journalistic writing, and I make videos and commercials/hype videos for different events.

How have you felt like you’ve changed since joining TCA?

SO MUCH. Coming from the suburban bubble, my interaction with diversity of both people and ideas was pretty limited, but because of the fantastically diverse group of TCA members I have been exposed to so much I never would have encountered in suburbia. TCA has made me a more independent, open minded, creative, weird, accepting, and overall kind person. I seriously would not be who I am today without TCA. They have become my second family.

If you could be anything in the universe, what would it be?

Myself, I'm pretty lucky with the life I got and the people that surround me, so I wouldn't change it. Well maybe I'd add in super powers 'cause super heroes are badass and awesome."

What is your least favorite movie?

>Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest

If you were a super villain, what would your master plan be?

I’d probably be a Gru type of super villain and act tough, but actually end up being a total marshmallow and help others in the end. That being said, my master plan would be to redistribute wealth, food, and access to health care (especially women’s access to abortion and contraception) in the world. Plus, somehow make rules that maybe everyone equal to everyone (i.e. demolish racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, etc).

Deidre Corrigan

3RD-YEAR TCA MEMBER

What do you do?

I do a lot of visual media, such as ink and pencil drawing, digital drawing, and printmaking.

How have you felt like you’ve changed since joining TCA?

When I first started TCA, I was painfully quiet and usually kept to myself. By my second year, I was leading discussions and was much more involved. I’ve definitely changed from being super quiet to being more of a leader.

If you could be anything in the universe, what would it be?

I think I’d want to be star. I’m not sure which kind of star, but it’d be nice to observe space and any planets orbiting me as I converted hydrogen into helium and such.

What is your least favorite movie?

I can't stand Jupiter Ascending. I don't even know why I watched that movie, I knew it was going to be bad.

If you were a super villain, what would your master plan be?

Well, assuming I had the materials and the willpower, I’d want to write my name on the moon. Like Chairface Chippendale, but better.

Lyra Hill

TCA LEAD ARTIST

What do you do?

I make comic books, experimental films, and immersive, often participatory performances.

How have you felt like you’ve changed since joining TCA?

Becoming a Lead Artist of TCA has helped me embrace my magical authority. I understand better how much I give and take in interpersonal exchanges. I have learned a lot about what it means to work within an arts institution.

What is the one movie you’ve seen the most?

Cabaret. It is my favorite movie.

What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

Fried worms. They taste like dust but they look like the devil.

If you had entrance music what would it be?

The sound of an earthquake from under the ground.

Grace Needlman

TCA LEAD ARTIST

What do you do/what is your medium?

I make puppets, curate, and create opportunities for people to collaborate and connect.

How have you felt like you’ve changed since joining TCA?

TCA has taught me how to shape authentic, complex experiences for others. Through the generosity, support, humor, and conviction of the people in this program, I have learned to honor my strengths as a leader and a listener.

If you could be anything in the universe, what would it be?

Qfwfq from Cosmicomics

What is your least favorite movie?

Benji the Hunted (or, at least, I hated that movie so much as a kid it became a running joke . . . maybe I'd like it now.)

If you were a super villain, what would your master plan be?

The only acceptable super villainy involves really exceptional robots. And maybe some playing around with genetic mutations, virtual reality, and cloning.
