Cindy Loehr

About

Cindy Loehr's body of work includes installations, photography, and mixed-media projects. Loehr often attempts to undermine the hierarchy of emotions such as depression, despair, desire, happiness, hope, and contentment. She explores such emotions by making them center stage in works like Nap Room and Calming Closet, which provide places for isolation and reflection, and Valentine’s Project, in which form love letters were signed and mailed, uncovering the common qualities of personal desire.

Loehr received an MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
