MCA Chicago invites MCA members to celebrate the opening of David Bowie Is.

David Bowie Is presents the first retrospective of the extraordinary career of David Bowie—one of the most pioneering and influential performers of our time. The exhibition brings together more than 300 objects, including handwritten lyrics, original costumes, photography, set designs, album artwork, and rare performance material from the past five decades are brought together from the David Bowie Archive for the first time. Bowie's work has both influenced and been influenced by wider movements in art, design, theater, and contemporary culture, and the exhibition subsequently focuses on his creative processes, shifting style, and collaborative work with diverse designers in the fields of fashion, sound, graphics, theater, and film. Multimedia installations incorporating advanced sound technology produced by Sennheister, original animations, continuous audio accompaniment, and video installations immerse visitors in the sights and sounds of Bowie's artistic life.

Enjoy snacks and a cash bar while being among the first to view the MCA’s newest exhibition.

Timed entry to the exhibition will occur every half hour between 4 and 8 pm, with the museum closing at 10 pm. All MCA galleries will be open to members from 4–10 pm.

To attend this day, members must use tickets allotted with their membership or purchase additional tickets for general admission ($25 for adults and teens; $10 for youths 7–12; free for children 6 and under). Timed tickets are available every half hour between 4 and 8 pm. Due to high demand, space at the Members' Preview is limited.
