The MCA joins the Chicago Dancing Festival in presenting the 5th annual festival of contemporary and classic dance with performances at the MCA stage, Harris Theater, Auditorium Theatre, and Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, plus films at the Chicago Cultural Center.
The Chicago Dancing Festival is presented by Chicago Dancing Company in association with the MCA Stage and City of Chicago – Millennium Park.

- MCA Moves
Wed, Aug 24, 6 & 8 pm
Independent, avant-garde and up-and-coming dance artists perform in this special program hosted by renowned Martha Graham impersonator Richard Move.
Join us at 7:30 pm on the MCA Plaza when Japanese Butoh exponents Eiko & Koma, whose retrospective exhibition at the MCA runs through November 13, perform a site-specific work.
- Muses
Fri, Aug 26, 6 pm
Historian and writer Lucia Mauro leads dance luminaries in a discussion and brief performance illuminating the relationship between choreographers and dancers.
Speakers include:
- Janet Eilber, Artistic Director of the Martha Graham Dance Company
- Bettie de Jong, Rehearsal Director of the Paul Taylor Dance Company
- Alejandro Cerrudo, Choreographer-In-Residence for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago

Featured dancers include members of New York’s Doug Varone & Dancers, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Adam Barruch, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and River North Dance Chicago.
A shortened version of the Moderns programming plays at the Harris’s lunchtime series on Wednesday, August 24, at noon.
