Workshop: Step Afrika

Monday–Friday, July 27–31

Register at Chicago Human Rhythm Project, or call 773-281-1825 for more information.

Step Afrika, America’s first professional dance group dedicated to steppin’, the dance form originated by African American fraternities based in African traditions, leads this technique class for adults of all levels. Stressing the group’s universal principles of teamwork, discipline, and commitment, participants will learn a short dance over the course of the week.

A performance view of black men and women dressed in all white sailor suits hold white cylindrical batons in both hands, sitting on top of each others shoulders while onstage. The red and green stage lighting is casted onto them.
