Richard Gray

Richard Gray was the owner of Richard Gray Gallery, which has been a staple of Chicago’s artistic community since its establishment in 1963. A longtime supporter of the MCA, Richard and his wife Mary made an important gift in 1996, establishing an artist lecture series, “The Richard and Mary L. Gray Lectures.” Now in its 22nd year, the series has encompassed such laudable talks as Kerry James Marshall in 2016, Takashi Murakami in 2017, and most recently Teju Cole. His gallery has also been a major supporter of the MCA Benefit Auction going back to the 1990s. He will be deeply missed by his many admirers at the MCA.
