Artist, musician, and curator Steve Krakow, aka Plastic Crimewave, speaks about his project The Secret History of Chicago Music during this informal talk in Puck's café. A performance follows at 7 pm. This program is part of the MCA's monthly UBS 12 x 12: New Artists/New Work exhibition series.

The Secret History of Chicago Music is an "info strip," which is published every two weeks in the Chicago Reader, and includes a musical segment that airs every second Sunday on the Nick Digilio show on WGN 720. Comprising approximately 100 drawings that incorporate extensive research by the artist, The Secret History of Chicago Music has developed into an important study of the obscure blues, jazz, rock, and experimental musicians from Chicago's rich musical history. Krakow brings the project to the MCA in the form of an exhibition and accompanying performances during the month of May.
