Found sounds and classical technique find new form as experimental music duo Nick Zamutto and Paul de Jong create their signature mix of electronica, folk, and pop. Described as one of the most inventive and unpredictable bands in popular music, The Books' multimedia performances incorporate their own projected videos as they blend samples and field recordings with acoustic instrumentation.

Waitlist Procedure
Box office will begin a waitlist one hour before the program begins. At that time, numbers are given out to patrons on a first-come, first-served basis, one number per patron per ticket. As tickets become available, box office staff will call out waitlist numbers in the order they are given out. Patrons must be present to take a number. As staff cannot predict when or if tickets will become available, it is important for those on the waitlist to remain within hearing distance. If a number is called and no one responds, box office staff will dismiss the number called and call the next number. Cash is preferred for waitlist transactions. Thank you for your cooperation and interest in this event.

The Books created original music for The Loneliest Road, a radio drama by sound artist, writer and storyteller Gregory Whitehead. This pirate radio broadcast from the obstructed heartland of the American Dream is haunted by dead poets, Marilyn Monroe, and an angel's solemn whisper. Come out for an afternoon of masterful radio storytelling and close listening, courtesy of the Third Coast Festival and MCA Chicago. The event is free; attendance is limited.
Running time: 90 minutes
