Louder Than a Bomb (LTAB), the Eighth Annual Chicago Teen Poetry Festival, invites more than 400 Chicago-area teens to compete in the nation's largest, team-oriented, teen poetry slam, February 28 to March 9, 2008. All poets are ages 19 and under and represent dozens of neighborhoods and suburbs in and around Chicago. The MCA hosts the LTAB semi-final rounds:

Rounds are approximately 90 min, with no intermission.
LTAB serves to unite disparate communities in the Chicago area, introducing young people from various social classes, ethnic definitions, and geographical areas to one another through performance poetry. In addition to providing free space for poets to express themselves and share their work, LTAB exists to break down stereotypes based in misconceptions of race, ethnicity, gender, and geography.
