After the film, hear Jeni LeGon, the first African-American entertainer to sign a long-term contract with a Hollywood film studio. LeGon danced with Bill "Bojangles" Robinson and appeared in films with stars such as Cab Calloway, Fred Astaire, and Judy Garland. Grant Dreschuk directed the film for the National Film Board of Canada.

The tap dance festival brings sensational companies combining traditional Asian forms with American tap: Tokyo's Boxmen jump and crash inside wooden frames, the taiko ensemble Cobu artfully combines traditional drumming with dance; Chicago-based Natya Dance Theatre achieves a masterful blend of Bharata Natyam and contemporary dance.
