Tatsu Aoki returns to the MCA for an evening of solo bass works celebrating his highly anticipated Basser Live Two release. Aoki is a prolific composer and performer working in a wide range of musical styles "from traditional Asian music and jazz, to creative, free and experimental music. Founder and artistic director of Asian American Jazz Festival, Chicago, Aoki's noteworthy productions include the The Beijing Trio with Max Roach and Jon Jang and numerous projects with hip-hop and Asian Pacific American artists" from film screenings to concert series. Aoki was named a "Chicagoan of the year" in 2001 by the Chicago Tribune.
