Internationally acclaimed Jennifer Monson is "expanding the range of beauty in dance" (New York Times). Her site-specific project follows the migratory pathways of birds from the Gulf of Mexico through the Midwest to Canadian border. Bird Brain investigates the spectacular navigational traits of animals and their metaphorical relationship to humans, as fellow world travelers. By literally following the migratory routes of birds, the dancers weave together a community across continents, ecosystems, and cultures. Monson's choreography springs brilliantly to life, bringing together dancers, scientists, environmentalists, and nature lovers with public dance events, discussions, and workshops. Please call the MCA Box Office at 312.397.4010 for a complete schedule of events with the artist.
