The Green Building Initiative

The Green Building Initiative™ is a non-profit network of building industry leaders committed to bringing green to mainstream residential and commercial construction. The GBI believes in building approaches that are environmentally progressive, but also practical and affordable for builders to implement.

The Green Building Initiative works with builders and their associations to facilitate understanding and acceptance of sensible green building practices. Specifically, it is part of our mandate to:

Support Home Builder Associations in their efforts to develop green building programs.
Provide web-based resources including model guidelines, case studies, consumer data, marketing information and online technical support.
Host educational seminars covering a variety of green building topics.
Participate in green building trade shows.
Educate the public through advertising, article placement and other forms of media outreach.
