UBS 12 × 12: New Artists/New Work:
Scott Anderson

March 7 – 31, 2003

Scott Anderson is a painter who draws from the natural and man-made landscape; the ethos of suburbia with its material wealth and often frustrated spiritual yearnings; modern art, design, and architecture; Hollywood movies; and science-fiction illustration. Using skewed perspective, Anderson creates sweeping expanses of color punctuated by recognizable imagery. This fluid reordering of the visual world suggests a reexamination of contemporary social, political, and moral systems. Scott Anderson received his MFA in 2001 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
