Presenting the designs and concepts of fashion designers in a contemporary art museum context, Skin Tight is premised on the idea that art and fashion are parallel impulses that powerfully influence and react to one another. The exhibition will explore the extreme innovations of a range of primarily European designers including Hussein Chalayan, Martin Margiela, Walter Van Beirendonck, Viktor & Rolf, and others, to probe the cultural construction of identity in a way that challenges the perception and presentation of the self. The exhibition is curated by guest curator Sylvia Chivaratanond, assisted by Tabatha Tucker, Marjorie Susman Curatorial Fellow. The exhibition design is by Ammar Eloueini.
