Jackie Winsor, like Robert Ryman with his white paintings, also restrained her area of interest by focusing exclusively on sculpture based on the cube. While this may have limited her options, it gave her productive parameters to work within, allowing her to explore numerous forms of construction, surfaces, transparency, and opacity, and a seemingly endless array of materials.
