Contemporary Art, Contemporary Educators represents the MCA’s wide range of professional development opportunities for teachers seeking to engage with big ideas through the art of our time.
We want to help educators:
- Inspire students to reflect on their own life experiences and to understand the world around them with the help of some of the greatest contemporary artists working today.
- Form professional learning communities to share information, meet peers and support each other to become active inquirers into their own practice.
- Embrace the spirit of inquiry and innovation inherent in contemporary art.
MCA teacher programs are free for Illinois teachers. Participants receive CPDUs. Vouchers for free parking in the MCA garage are provided pending availability.

Teacher Pass
The MCA offers free admission to Illinois elementary and high school teachers. Simply present a valid teacher ID at the admissions desk. You may also request a teacher pass, valid for one year, by sending a request on your school letterhead.
